@q060102 Probably squats
@wubs23
Get some adivce from a trainer, they’re always happy to help.
so whats the best exercise you could ever do?
is that an olympic bar ?
Deadlifts are awesome, ive found they burn a lot of calories therefore fat, build strength quickly so all other weight training exercises improve.
I take the weight into my core, and keep my back very tight and straight when doing them and for the first time ever im getting a four pack, which is impressive since i never do any sit ups, & drink a fair amount of beer.
Squats are meant to be better but do they focus on the legs? cos I have very muscular legs normally so dont want to build on that
sometimes a trainer can be just as risky. its not uncommon to find a trainer with no credentials other than being jacked. if a trainer is NSCA or ACSM certified and has at least a batchelors degree you should be alright. as for the weightbelt, no one should use one except for the few times they go over ~95% of their 1RM, which wont be for a while if youre just beginning.
yes
If this is the second best exercise, what is the best? Squats?
TaticalDude2 wat u might be doing is pulling the hex-bar or regualr bar too much wiht your arms and thats why u may get that pulling sensation in your arms and shoulder. work on keeping your arms more locked and that should help u out!! hope it works for you
At my school we do it way differantly, we slam the weights on the floor and use a hex-bar. I hate the regular bar. One thing I have noticed with my dead lift is that i tend to hurt a muscle in my tricep or in my shoulders.
Oh, and I should add a training belt is excellent for squats, too. Not a big fan of the old style leather ones, though. The newer neoprene or some of the other newer materials give the best support, imo. Again, good luck.
when he said press your feet thru the floor…may sound funny, but that’s what you’re trying to do. If you concentrate on ‘standing up’, that’s where some people screw up. But if you conc. on ‘pressing your feet thru the floor’, that will tell your body to do what you’re actually aiming for and take the strain off your back. A training belt doesn’t hurt either. Just take it slow and don’t try to be macho with the weight. Get your form down first and the weight will come. Good luck!
Great questions. First one…alternating is the way to go. Second one….just start out light and really get your form down to a tee. When I say light, I mean it. For squats, just use the bar at first, and then work your way up incrementally, little by little. Don’t feel like a pansy about starting light. You’ve gotta take care of those knees and back. Deadlifts…same thing but you can start a little heavier. The guy had the best advice about deadlifting at 1:17
@wubs23 you can simply use straps and have same grip on both hands
On a second note, should i try this exercise with advice from youtube, or really get a trainer before attempting this?
i really want to incorporate squats and deadlifts in my routine, but i’m scared that i will fuck up my back and knees with mistakes in my form…
So if i start doing this exercise, should i alternate the hook grip, or keep the same hand forward and the other inward all the time?
seems to me this grip puts more strain on 1 side of your body than the other?
i’m a newbie to weightlifting, and this exercise kills me.
I did incorporated deadlifts into my training a few weeks ago. Been in constant pain every since lol
wow so many critics… great video on a correct deadlift
ahhhhhhhh tj just said let it hit. what do i do. ive been letting it hit the ground this whole time
never hit the ground about a inch between the plate and the ground after finish let it hit the floor
Very good, but I would widen your feet if i were you.
from wat i know dead lift u are not sposed to bend ur legs like that u are supose to bend it a lil and lock it and stick ur ass out thats what i know and thats how u work ur ass
