Times have change,so do training methods. The Hartman D.I. is a movie role. D.I.’s are sharp enough to see changes like the ones the Pyle boot showed.

    @fringelife Its dramatization, in real life that wouldn’t have went down like that. I never went through marine basic but in Navy basic training, we weren’t allowed anywhere near ammo or guns most of the time. And when we did have loaded weapons there were MAs behind us with M16s. And the instructions went like this “If you turn around you will be shot, if you point the weapon in any direction other than the target you will be shot.” And a few more things like that.

    @fringelife hey buddy it is obvious you have not served, which is fine, but something you need to realize is that all Drill Instructors and all Drill sergeants do this, when i was in basic i litterally wanted to murder my Drill Sergeant I planned it and all but when i got to the range and i had my gun and rounds i never did anything, its simply obsured to even think about actually doing when you have a gun with real bullets in your hand

    dude, your looking wayy to deeply into this, you obviously never served which is fine, but if you did you would know all dill instructors (GS Hartman) and drill sergeants all do this, when i was in basic, everyone wanted to kill a drill sergeant they say things that are incredibly personal and i thought they were stupid for letting me have a loaded gun around them because i honestly thought i was going to kill one of them, well i didn’t and either did anyone else
